Our journey to True Narrative Media began with a passion for storytelling. It all started when we documented a traveling basketball team from Arizona and captured their journey to success. Our work caught the attention of Chris Oliver, the founder of Basketball Immersion, who invited us to shoot for the University of Alabama Men's Basketball team with current coach Nate Oats and Bethel University's David Novak to create basketball training videos for coaches. But then, the unexpected happened. Covid-19 hit, and all the opportunities we had worked so hard to secure disappeared due to restrictions. We were MTB Productions before, and we were at a loss for what to do next. However, we didn't give up.
During the Covid-19 shutdown, we started looking for businesses that needed help promoting their brand through storytelling, and we partnered with a couple of business owners to beta test our approach. We want to give special thanks to Miguel Rodriguez (Crossfit Rave), Ed Smith, Javon Adams (EZ Sports Talk Show), and Tina Smith (E3 Cryo) for helping us grow.
Through this process, we discovered our passion for storytelling and how we can make an impact by helping businesses tell their authentic stories. Our documentary work with the traveling basketball team had inspired us to partner with business owners to craft their narratives in a way that inspires others. Thanks to Jamal Edwards, the owner of Taylor Made Prep, and his teams, we traveled and documented (2016-2019), which helped us discover our passion for serving others by crafting impactful stories giving kids a 2nd chance to make it beyond High School to play College Basketball.
As a result, we decided to change our identity from being solely focused on basketball to True Narrative Media. Our mission is to help forward-thinking companies tell their impactful stories through the power of video. We're proud to say that our tagline "Innovative Storytelling for Forward-Thinking Companies" captures what we stand for.
We've learned that what makes us unique and the best option for businesses looking for video production services is our commitment to serving others. We take the time to understand each client's story, and we craft their narrative in a way that resonates with their target audience. We start with the "what for who, that does what?" approach, and we guide our clients from pre-production to post-production to ensure the end result exceeds their expectations.
Our journey has been a rollercoaster, but it has taught us that storytelling is the very fabric that makes us all unique. We are grateful for all the businesses and individuals we've connected with along the way, and we look forward to continuing to celebrate their stories and growth.
